Lecount Hollow Beach – Wellfleet
Lecount Hollow Beach is a quintessential Wellfleet oceanside beach, close to the Southfleet and accessible via the Cape Cod Rail trail. Steep cliffs set a dramatic scene for this large beach, with colder ocean temperatures and waves suitable for surfing at low tide.
A Wellfleet town beach, access stickers can be purchased at the Wellfleet beach sticker office. The large cliff that descends from the parking lot to the beach makes this beach not accessible to those with difficulty walking. Seasonal lifeguards keep everyone safe (and on the lookout for sharks) and restrooms are provided in the beach parking lot.
Lecount Hollow beach is also known as “Le Count Hollow Beach” or “Maguire’s Landing”. It’s the “first beach” you encounter when driving from Route 6, followed by the other Wellfleet oceanside beaches White Crest, Cahoon Hollow, and Newcomb Hollow.
Summer Tip: If Lecount Hollow Beach parking is full during the busy summer months, keep driving on Ocean View Drive, to see if the other 3 beaches have room!
