Are there fees for Cape Cod National Seashore beaches?

If you’re planning a beach day during your stay at The Southfleet, you may be wondering: Are there fees to visit the beaches at Cape Cod National Seashore?

The answer is yes, at certain times of year. Cape Cod National Seashore charges an entrance fee at six of its beaches during the spring, summer, and fall. The fees help support the National Park Service and the maintenance and operation of the beaches and other park facilities.

How Much Does It Cost?

For the 2026 season, the standard entrance fees are:

Private vehicle: $25
Motorcycle: $20
Walk-in or bicycle: $15 per person, ages 16 and older
Cape Cod National Seashore seasonal pass: $60

Children under 16 do not need an entrance pass when entering on foot or by bicycle. The America the Beautiful federal recreation passes are also accepted, including eligible senior, military, veteran, and access passes.

One important thing to know: Cape Cod National Seashore is cashless. Beach entrance stations accept credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments.

Which Cape Cod Beaches Charge a Fee?

There are six National Seashore beaches where entrance fees are collected:

Coast Guard Beach – Eastham
Nauset Light Beach – Eastham
Marconi Beach – Wellfleet
Head of the Meadow Beach – Truro
Race Point Beach – Provincetown
Herring Cove Beach – Provincetown

For guests staying at The Southfleet, the Marconi Beach entrance s located directly across from us. It’s known for its dramatic ocean views, high bluffs, and beautiful stretch of sandy beach.

When Are Beach Fees Collected?

Beach entrance fees are seasonal rather than year-round. The National Park Service collects fees during the spring, summer, and fall, with the busiest part of the season generally having daily fee collection. Exact dates and fee-booth operations can vary by beach and time of year.

The beaches themselves remain open outside of the fee-collection season. In fact, Cape Cod National Seashore beaches can be enjoyed throughout the year—so an off-season walk along the ocean doesn’t require a beach entrance pass when the fee stations are closed.
