In Full Bloom for Restaurant Week in Wellfleet
We are getting ready for Wellfleet’s first “Restaurant Week” June 3-June 10th here at the Southfleet Motor Inn. This Sunday August 23rd do not miss the Incredible Casuals band playing at the Wellfleet Beachcomber. Located right at Cahoon Hollow beach the Beachcomber has great food, great views and great people. The show starts at 4pm and costs $10 per person. If you like great music, the ocean breeze and great food do not miss this great event.

This years Wellfleet Oysterfest is scheduled for the October weekend of the 18th and 19th. There have been several years of Oysterfests before this one and this event is so popular that the streets get jam packed with people coming to enjoy all that there is to see and do. There are great events such as: 5K Road Race, Disco Dancing at the Lighthouse Restaurant, Main Street Festival, Art Auction, Beach combing and so much more. You get to taste some local fresh oysters as well as food from local restaurants. There are local crafters selling handmade items and local groups get together to offer their services. As with every year in Wellfleet the fireworks display that is shown each summer is just great. This past Friday was no different. The fireworks were fabulous and there were some great steel drum musicians at the green as well as great food and lots of people. We took some time off from the motel for the evening and had a nice dinner at the Bookstore restaurant overlooking Wellfleet harbor. Then we sat in our beach chairs at the pier on the beach and watched the fabulous fireworks display. The evening could not have been better. Do not miss the fireworks next summer, they are fun and entertaining for the entire family.
I cannot believe that the fourth of July is tomorrow! This summer has come up upon us very fast and the weather has been just so great this Spring and Summer. We have barely had any rainy days and the sun has been shining brightly most days. There are people everywhere and this is when we know the season has begun. The bike trail is packed with bikers everyday as well as the beaches. The restaurants have lines out their doors. The fireworks this weekend will be in Provincetown on the 4th at Dusk and in Orleans on the 5th at dusk. Check them both out as these are great fireworks shows that the whole family will love.
