As with every year in Wellfleet the fireworks display that is shown each summer is just great. This past Friday was no different. The fireworks were fabulous and there were some great steel drum musicians at the green as well as great food and lots of people. We took some time off from the motel for the evening and had a nice dinner at the Bookstore restaurant overlooking Wellfleet harbor. Then we sat in our beach chairs at the pier on the beach and watched the fabulous fireworks display. The evening could not have been better. Do not miss the fireworks next summer, they are fun and entertaining for the entire family.
This up and coming Labor Day weekend make sure to come to the Cape to get one last vacation in before school starts back up again. This is a great way to get your family together and out of the house before the winter starts. To top off this last big weekend of the Summer there are fireworks at Wellfleet harbor this weekend. There will be tons of people at Mayo beach this weekend gathering to watch the fabulous fireworks show.
Located right next door to thee Southfleet is a great fish market and restaurant called Catch of the Day. They offer excellent locally caught fresh seafood daily in the Summertime including your very own lobster dinner made to order. That’s right, you can call in a lobster dinner, roll out of your bed, walk over the the Catch of the Day, get your lobster dinner all made up and ready to go, take it back to your room and relax and enjoy. It is really that easy. When you come to the Cape you must have a lobster dinner as the freshly caught seafood and shellfish here is so delicious.
Yes you can! You can ride your bike to one of the best beaches on Cape Cod in just minutes right from your motel room. We even have bike rentals if you do not own a bike or if you just don’t want to lug your bikes on vacation. Marconi National Seashore beach is located only 1 mile away, directly across the street form us here at the Southfleet. There is a small fee to go to the beach during the hours of 8-4 each day until Labor Day. Our bike rentals are very inexspensive at only $5 per hour.
People come from all over the world to visit Cape Cod and there is no reason why not to. The Cape is one of the most beautiful places in the USA. Wellfleet is known for it’s Wellfleet Oysters and boy oh biy are they tasty. When you come and stay with us on your next vacation make sure to try some of our local fresh caught oysters, you will not be disappointed. If you visit Wellfleet harbor you can see the boats bringing in their local catch each day. Wellfleet is known for being a fishing town and you will notice that when you are at the harbor. Their are kids and adults fishing off the pier all day as well as boaters going in and out. Wellfleet is such a great place to enjoy, with all there is to do you will not be bored.
